Hi, I’m Rebecca.
Why I Do This Work
Hi, I’m Rebecca Winterburg, LSCSW (KS) / LCSW (MO)
I’m a clinically licensed social worker providing therapy in the Kansas City metro— and serving both Kansas and Missouri via telehealth. My passion is helping the helpers: nurses, doctors, teachers, therapists, and other professionals who spend their lives caring for others.
Too often, helpers are the last to get help. Burnout, compassion fatigue, and moral injury are common in healthcare and education, and they can take a toll on your work, relationships, and sense of self. If you’ve been searching for a therapist in Kansas City who understands the unique stress of nurses, teachers, and medical professionals, you’re in the right place.
I believe those who give the most deserve a place to rest and be cared for. My goal is to provide compassionate, practical therapy so that helpers across Kansas and Missouri can feel steady again—at work, at home, and in themselves.
If you’re looking for burnout therapy in Kansas City, compassion fatigue counseling in Missouri, or support for teacher and healthcare professional stress, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
My Approach to Therapy
I’m warm, collaborative, and direct. I combine evidence-based methods with genuine care, offering flexible scheduling (including telehealth) to fit the needs of shift workers and busy professionals.
In therapy with me, you’ll find a safe, supportive space to:
Process the exhaustion and stress that comes with caregiving roles
Rebuild balance and boundaries so you can thrive outside of work
Address symptoms of burnout, anxiety, and secondary trauma
Learn evidence-based tools tailored to the realities of helpers in KC

Outside the Therapy Room
When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me tending plants in the garden, challenging friends to a board game, getting lost in a video game, or fueling it all with way too much coffee.
Because life isn’t just about the serious stuff — and I bring my whole, real self into this work, just as I invite you to bring yours.
